What do you use for this treatment?
A speciality pen with one of the finest probes and directional lights on the market for extra precision.
What is Plasma Technology?
The directional hand-piece produces a small plasma flash by ionising the gases in the air to form plasma which in turn creates an electrical arc from the probe to the skin. The Probe itself does not touch the skin. The plasma produces energy which vaporises the immediate vicinity of the skin which then ensures that the tissue contracts.
What can it treat?
This is a non-surgical treatment for smoker lines, eyelids, excess skin around the neck and eyes, stretchmarks and other sagging skin areas or scar tissue.
Do I need to prepare for this treatment?
You will require a consultation ahead of this treatment. You will also be asked not to use AHA acids for 4 weeks ahead of treatment or had Botox for 6 weeks. You must also not have a suntan or be heading off to the sun.
How many sessions will I require?
We highly recommend 2-3 treatments for longevity, however many do notice a difference immediately.
What is my downtime?
Each client is different in terms of skin recovery time, but we do recommend avoiding makeup in the area of treatment until the crusts come away. The area treated will have small dots/crusts that need to come away in their own time and this can be 5-7 days on average.
Who will perform my treatment?
Both the Senior Aesthetic Therapist and Nurse are qualified in the Plasma treatment.
Does it hurt?
There is minimal discomfort with this treatment and a topical numbing cream is applied to the area before the procedure.
When will I see the results?
You should notice results immediately and as the cell turnover and collagen increases you will notice further developments to your skin. Most find that after 3 months it’s at it’s best and will last for around 3 years.
Does this work on all skin types?
Unfortunately not. Skin types 1-3 are safe candidate for the plasma pen. There is a risk of hyperpigmentation on darker skin types.
